Trump quoted a right-wing pastor’s warnings about impeachment setting off another Civil War, setting off alarms across the Internet.
He quoted a Fox News appearance by Pastor Robert Jeffress, who leads the First Baptist Church in Dallas, warning that impeachment would “negate” the votes of religious conservatives and spark a revolt.
Lewis started out by describing how the Trump administration has completely stonewalled congressional requests for information, which he said was leaving the House of Representatives with no choice but to take this drastic option.
Former GOP Rep. Tom Coleman, from Missouri, penned a powerful Op-Ed that appeared in The Kansas City Star Wednesday. In it he calls not only for the impeachment of the pretender Trump, but also his chief enabler, V.P. Pence and says their installation in the two top positions in the executive branch was illegitimate.
A little-known former Secretary of State published an Op-Ed in the Washington Post that is must-read for anyone looking for a North Star to guide us through the aftermath of the Mueller Report and into what looks likely to be Impeachment.
She starts out with the basics:
“Our election was corrupted, our democracy assaulted, our sovereignty and security violated. This is the definitive conclusion of special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s report. It documents a serious crime against the American people.”
Two of the impeachable offenses of which President Donald Trump has been accused — colluding with Russian political interference and working with Michael Cohen to violate campaign finance laws — would directly imply that he was elected as a result of fraud. And according to law professor Michael Glennon of Tufts University, this means that if Trump does get impeached for these alleged high crimes, Vice President Mike Pence must go down as well.
