Lyle Talbot played the first live-action Commissioner Jim Gordon AND Lex Luthor. He always said he loved playing both of these characters. Talbot said that playing Lex allowed him to act really crazy and menacing.
He was a busy actor for about 60 years, on stage, screen, and television. In A-films, he often played villains or support to the male lead. In B-films, he often played the male lead.
His worry of having no income caused him to take just about any part, including two of Ed Wood‘s films. None of his lower-grade work ever seemed to affect his demand in A-listers though.
He was also quite proud of he and his family’s dedication to progressive politics and charity work.
Dennis, who was homeless, was found in a used clothing donation bin in Van Nuys, a neighborhood about 10 miles from the tourist district where he earned a living, Deadline reported. Police told the website he was likely looking for something to wear and that no foul play was suspected.
Born John Feggo in Oxford, New Jersey, on October 8, 1910, Kirk Alyn became the screen’s first Superman in the 15-chapter 1948 Columbia serial of the same name. Alyn had worked as an actor for many years prior to taking on his most famous role, with some success.
